There’s nothing wrong with being good-looking, right? This week President Obama was in California for a Democratic National Committee fundraiser when he referred to California Attorney General Kamala Harris as “by far the best-looking attorney general.” Some people are calling his remark sexist and are saying that it diminishes her accomplishments. What do we think at the HotMessFolder™? One, she’s the Attorney General of the State of California – this is not a job that just anybody can walk into the California Department of Justice to sign up for, so she must be intelligent; commenting on her looks does not make her any less accomplished. Two, since when is it wrong to pay someone a compliment? All the people who are trying to make this into something bigger than what it is, please take your place in the HotMessFolder™! The President, however, has since called Harris to apologize for the distraction his comment caused. Those of us manning the HotMessFolder™ will never be offended if the President wants to call us the best-looking bloggers (and no one needs to get offended on our behalf!).
